Over three decades since its television adaptation, John Le Carre’s celebrated novel is being brought to cinemas by Swedish director Tomas Alfredson (Let the Right One In). Gary Oldman stars as veteran spy George Smiley, tasked with uncovering a Soviet agent within MI6; he is joined by a host of British talent including Tom Hardy and Colin Firth.
