Jamie Bell Finds Perfect Retreat

Billy Elliot star Jamie Bell has signed up to British psychological thriller Retreat, reportedly taking over from David Tennant (Doctor Who) who has bowed out of the project. The film stars Cillian Murphy and Thandie Newton, an estranged couple who visit a remote island to work on their relationship, only to have their therapy interrupted by a dying military officer (likely to be played by Bell) who arrives with news of a pandemic that’s killing millions on the mainland.
Retreat will be directed by Carl Tibbetts, who also co-wrote the screenplay with Janice Hallett. Shooting is scheduled to begin in Wales in September.
