Steven Soderbergh Comes To Dublin

Oscar-winning filmmaker Steven Soderbergh (Traffic, Che) is poised to start shooting a new movie in Dublin on February 2nd. Screenwriter Lem Dobbs (The Score) wrote the screenplay for spy thriller Knockout specifically for the Irish capital, and Soderbergh plans to shoot in various locations around the city.

The story revolves around a black ops soldier seeking revenge after she is betrayed during a a mission is to star Channing Tatum, Ewan McGregor and Michael Fassbender, with Dennis Quaid and Michael Douglas also being lined up for involvement.

The project is being part-financed by The Irish Film Board, who said that more than 100 jobs will be created in Ireland because of it. American producer Gregory Jacobs stated that, “Unlike most productions that tailor what’s available to the script, we wrote this movie for Dublin and are thrilled that the city has been so co-operative.”
