Wright, Langan to lead BBC Films

BBC Films has upped Christine Langan as creative director with Jane Wright now becoming managing director.
Both Langan and Wright were previously part of the BBC Films’ four person board structure announced in October 2007 by Jane Tranter, the BBC’s former controller of fiction.
Fellow board members Joe Oppenheimer and Jamie Laurenson will continue to hold exec producer posts within BBC Films.
Langan, who had the title of commissioning editor on the board, will now take the lead in developing the editorial strategy and commissioning of BBC Films’ slate. Wright, whose previous title was commercial affairs and general manager, will have day to day responsibility for the business, operations and marketing aspects of BBC Films. She will also retain an exec producer role within the division.
