Academia Rossica have announced dates for the 5th Russian Film Festival scheduled to run from 4th – 13th November 2011 at London’s Apollo Cinema. Additional screenings are planned in several UK cinemas, including the Edinburgh Film House and the Newcastle Tyneside Cinema, the BFI representative for the North East.
This annual fixture gives British audiences the chance to explore the latest in Russia’s international award-winning filmmaking and in 2011 will screen London premieres of 8 critically acclaimed, award-winning films with presentations by their directors and talent.
The festival will also serve as a platform for inter-cultural dialogue between key Russian and British film industry figures with a series of roundtable events scheduled in partnership with the British Film Institute (BFI) and National Film and Television School (NFTS) to address themes which include Russian-British co-production and new digital film distribution channels.
