David O Russell’s hotly anticipated American Hustle has been announced as the closing night gala at this year’s Dubai International Film Festival (DIFF), which runs from December 6 – 14, 2013.
DIFF will be the first festival to screen the film, which tells of con man Irving Rosenfeld (Christian Bale) who, along with his British partner Sydney Prosser (Amy Adams), is forced to work for wild card FBI agent Richie DiMaso (Bradley Cooper) in a world populated by New Jersey powerbrokers and mobsters. Jeremy Renner also stars as Carmen Polito, the New Jersey politician caught between the con-artists and the law, while Jennifer Lawrence takes the role of Irving’s wife Rosalyn.

Italia Films will release American Hustle in the Middle East in 2014.
