Idris Elba Is The New Alex Cross

Crime writer James Patterson’s literary detective Alex Cross has been seen twice on screen, played by Morgan Freeman in Kiss the Girls and Along Came a Spider. And now the character is to have new life breathed into him in the form of The Wire star Idris Elba.
He will take the role of the super sleuth in Cross, an adaptation of the twelfth book in Patterson’s series of novels. The story focuses on Cross after he leaves the FBI to open a private practice, and sees him go up against serial murderer The Butcher.
