Blackburn, the director of Warp Films’ low budget thriller Donkey Punch, cast the 25-year-old American actress best known for the role of Alice Cullen in the Twilight franchise alongside Haley Bennett in a project formerly known as Kristy, The Wrap reports.
With a script written by Vanishing on Seventh Street scribe Anthony Jaswinski, the film follows a group of college students who are attacked in their dormitory during Thanksgiving break, before the survivors go on the hunt for their attackers.
The official synopsis reads: “With the rest of the campus home for the Thanksgiving holiday, Justine and a few of her friends spend the weekend in their college dormitory: studying, relaxing and blissfully unaware of the terror that is about to unfold outside in the cold.:
The film is expected to shoot in New Orleans later this month and through much of December.
The Weinstein Company are producing the movie along with David Kirschner, Corey Sienega, Jamie Patricof and Lynette Howell.
