The original title for the film was The Legend of Cain. The title change to the softer word ‘redemption’ seems to suggest a more sympathetic portrayal of the two brothers who, according to the Bible, were the sons of Adam and Eve. with Cain commits the first murder by killing his brother.
Andrea Berloff – the screenwriter behind World Trade Center – is rewriting Will’s brother-in-law Caleeb Pinkett’s original script, which had Cain as a vampire.
