What training have you received?
Having done the academic thing and getting a degree in Biology from Leeds University, where I’d actually spent most of my time acting or at the Hyde Park Picture House, I moved to London to train at LAMDA.

What kind of roles attract you?
I think I’m more attracted by projects as a whole. I’d probably be happy playing a lamp post if it was a good story or a director I was excited about working with. Having said that, I do enjoy playing odd, slightly damaged parts. My character in Magpie has given up, so there’s a reckless freedom about him which has been really fun to play with. In Accomplice I’m playing an obsessive compulsive cleaner with an unhealthy affection for Cillit Bang. I have a bit of a mixed CV, but I like that.

What’s the best advice that you’ve been given as an actor?
To work as hard and make the most out of any opportunities which come your way. This has worked for me, as almost all of the bigger things I’ve done have come from relationships developed with people I worked with on smaller projects.

Tell us the most significant moment in your career so far
Saying yes to the fairly daunting challenge of playing a heroic zombie! When Marc first pitched me the idea for Colin, I was pretty apprehensive about being able to create a character an audience could care about without having any dialogue or emotion to do it. I told him I’d think about it! In spite of my nerves I felt like I had to do it, and just commit to it completely. After everything that happened with the release of Colin, and all the amazing things I have been lucky enough to do since, I am so relieved I said yes and threw myself at it.

You’ll die happy when…
I have a pretty extensive wish list of people I’d like to work with so I’ll die happy when I’ve ticked some of them off. Even if I have to play a lamp post….
