Film4 FrightFest to host nine premieres as part of Glasgow Film Festival – movieScope

The festival is to host the UK premieres of horror anthology The ABCs of Death and Neil Jordan’s Byzantium , among nine UK premieres taking place during this year’s eighth edition.

Also premiering are Nicolás López’s Aftershock, which was co-written and stars Hostage director Eli Roth, as well as Barry Levinson’s The Bay and Rob Zombie’s The Lords of Salem.

Roth, his co-star Lorenza Izzo, Neil Jordan and his stars Gemma Arterton and Saoirse Ronan, as well as three directors ofThe ABCs of Death  – Simon Rumley, Lee Hardcastle and Jake West – are due to attend the festival.

A newly restored edition of Mario Bava’s horror anthology Black Sabbath will also receive a retrospective premiere, screening for the first time in English.
