Miramax enters Russian film market with Stream LLC deal – |

Announced today, subscribers to Russian media content distributor Stream LLC – formerly known as Omlet.ru. – will be offered titles including Kill Bill, Pulp Fiction and The English Patient.

Miramax senior vice President and head of sales Danny Goldman said: “Stream has developed into a leader in the Russian media content market, and we are very pleased that they are our first partner in Russia as we continue to extend Miramax’s global relationships,”

Since being purchased in 2010 by a group of investors led by construction magnate Ron Tutor, Miramax’s leadership has focused on pushing its back-catalogue out to a wider audience, rather than competing in an increasingly saturated market with new productions.

Previous distribution deals with the likes of Hulu and Netflix have helped to exploit the studio’s catalogue of titles.

Viewers can watch the films in HD online or download them to tablets, smart phones, consoles, Blu-ray players and connected TVs.
