Relativity Media opens international sales arm – movieScope
The new outfit – branded Relativity Foreign – will handle foreign sales and international distribution management on behalf of Relativity’s titles.
FilmNation has until now handled foreign sales for Relativity titles. It will now end sales duties on the films it has been working on for the company.
Relativity Foreign will be fronted by new president Camela Galano, who will report to Relativity’s founder Ryan Kavanaugh and President Tucker Tooley.
Galano formerly worked as the CEO and founder of global sales and distribution company Speranza13 Media, as well as the president of international film acquisitions for Warner Bros. and president of international sales, marketing and distribution at New Line Cinema.
Her accounts include the Lord of the Rings trilogy, as well as commercially successful films including Austin Powers, Blade, Rush Hour and Final Destination.
Relativity CEO Ryan Kavanaugh said in a statement: ”The launch of Relativity Foreign takes our model and approach to the international marketplace.
“We are excited to grow our global presence and Camela is the perfect person to help lead our new foreign sales and distribution efforts as we continue to build our studio.”
President Tucker Tooley said: “Relativity Foreign is a natural next step for our company and Camela’s experience in international sales, distribution and acquisitions will be invaluable as we launch this new division. We are eager to build upon the international success of our films with Relativity Foreign.”
