Vertigo Films acquire BIFA nominated debut film Strings – movieScope

Written, directed and co-produced whilst he was 18 years old, Savage fully funded the production with part time jobs.

Strings follows a destructive teenage romance between a German exchange student and a British boy in her final weeks before returning to Munich and her warring family.

The film was nominated at the British Independent Film Awards and the Raindance Film Festival this year.

Savage is an alumni of the Berlin Talent Campus, and won the BFI Future Film award in 2009.

Vertigo Films co-founder, James Richardson said: “We are hugely excited to welcome Rob Savage and STRINGS to the Vertigo Films family.

“As a company we are constantly striving to discover and champion exciting new talent, which has seen us work with Gareth Edwards, Nicolas Winding Refn and Scoot McNairy in recent years.”

Rob Savage said: “I am thrilled that Strings has found a home with Vertigo Films and look forward to working with them closely in the future.”

Vertigo will be distributing the film in early 2013.
