Script submissions are now open, and SOS is searching for up and coming writers and producers for their seven month development programme, which is built around three workshops – one of which will be a residential in Genova, Italy – plus seminars, group discussions and project work. During this time, chosen writers will be supported by mentors and participants in developing a feature length screenplay, while producers will be given the help they need to fast track their development experience.
Programme mentors include The Bureau’s development executive Valentina Brazzini; Weekend and iFeatures2 producer Tristan Goligher; and Matthie de Braconier, co-producer of London River.
Past speakers have included luminaries like Simon Beaufoy (Slumdog Millionaire), Joe Penhall (The Road), Hanif Kureishi (Venus) and Michel Reilhac (Arte).
SOS continues to be supported by Creative Skillset, while new partnerships with the London Film School, Three Mills Studios and the Genova-Liguria Film Commission have also been announced.
