Sequence Post joins Sohonet Media Network

Sohonet (www.sohonet.co.uk), the leading expert in connectivity and data management for the media and entertainment industry, recently announced that award-winning television and film post production company, Sequence Post Productions Ltd, has now joined its Sohonet Media Network.

Previously one of Sohonet’s DSL customers at Pinewood Studios for many years, Sequence Post’s recent expansion and move to beautiful, new offices in Fitzrovia, London, provided the ideal opportunity to upgrade its existing connection to Sohonet’s globally renowned Media Network.

Ben Foakes, Founder and owner of Sequence said: “We wanted to have the sort of performance Sohonet offers for years but were too small to justify the spend. The most important factor for us in determining the decision to join the Sohonet Media Network is our long-term goal to revolutionise the way we do Post, and Sohonet is the only provider that fully understands our business to enable us to do this successfully.”

“Sohonet’s 100mbit/s connection has exceeded all expectations. It has dramatically increased the speed and efficiency of our production workflow and has completely blown our clients away. So far we have only scratched the surface of what can be achieved with the resource and we look forward to encouraging more of our clients to join the network to take advantage of its benefits.”

As a result of joining the Sohonet Media Network, Sequence Post is now able to upload and download entire shows in HD to and from customers, exchange large files with playout and QC companies and deliver TX files straight to broadcasters.

Sohonet’s, CTO, Ben Roeder, comments: “Sequence Post has shown that a connection to the Sohonet Media Network can optimise the way media companies do business. By joining the Sohonet Media Network, Sequence Post is connected to all the top post production houses, studios and broadcasters across the globe, so it can benefit from new businesses opportunities and the latest technical advances without having to worry about the inconsistencies of the Internet.”

Sequence Post acquired and customised a converted Victorian fabric factory in Fitzrovia, last year. What sets the wooden-floored, open brick walled, black-beamed ceilinged property apart is the hidden infrastructure of 2.5 kilometres of broadcast cable running invisibly throughout the building. Sohonet’s Dark Fibre connection underpins all of the edit suites. Each suite connects seamlessly to a central server, HD VTR bay and SDI router, offers Xsan 2, provides a huge capacity Active Xraid and has been optimised for HD workflows.
