The British actor will star alongside Shia LaBeouf and Charlotte Gainsbourg in the controversial Danish diector’s latest picture, which has recieved plenty of publicity prior to the film’s shoot after LaBeouf revealed he anticipated having sex on screen as part of the demands of the role, with the assistance of body doubles and visual effects.
Other new castings include Nicolas Bro, Connie Nielsen, Jens Albinus and Severin von Hoensbroesch.
Gainsbourg plays the character of Joe, a self-professed nymphomaniac who is found beaten and abandoned in an alley by Stellan Skarsgard’s bachelor character Seligman, whom she begins to tell the story of her life.
It is not known exactly what role 26-year-old Bell – best known for playing the titular role in Stephen Daldry’s Billy Elliot – will take on, and it has not been confirmed if Nicole Kidman and Willem Defoe, who have been attached to the film previously, are still involved.
The film will be released in both a hardcore and softcore version at some point in 2013.
