Win A Set of Four FilmCraft Books! – |

Published by Ilex Press, the FilmCraft book series is an absolute must-read for any filmmaker or fan. And we’ve got five sets to give away!

Edited by experts in their field, the FilmCraft books are ground-breaking, lavishly illustrated studies of a particular aspect of filmmaking. The first two books in the series, Cinematography and Editing, are available now, while Costume Design and Directing are due to be published in October 2012.

FilmCraft: Editing, which is authored by senior Variety film critic Justin Chang, brings together 17 exclusive interviews with leading editors, including Walter Murch, Virginia Katz, Joel Cox and Richard Marks, to explore the art of film editing in an increasingly digital world.

Similarly, FilmCraft: Cinematography, co-authored by Screen International editor Mike Goodridge and leading film critic Tim Grierson, features 16 interviews with the world’s leading cinematographers.

The two forthcoming additions to the series are equally as fascinating. In FilmCraft: Costume Design, Oscar-nominated costume designer Deborah Nadoolman Landis oversees interviews with colleagues such as Janty Yates, Jenny Beavan, Lindy Hemming and Yvonne Blake. And Mike Goodridge takes the reigns again for FilmCraft: Directing, which looks at the unique role of the director in everything from development and writing to working with actors and cinematographers right through to post-production and distribution.

Thanks to our friends at Ilex Press, we have five sets of all four FilmCraft books to give away – including the two books that are not published until October! To be in with a chance of winning, just answer the following question:

Which FilmCraft author is curating a large Hollywood costume exhibition at London’s Victoria & Albert museum later this year?

Email your answer to competitions@moviescopemag.com, stating ‘FilmCraft Competition’ in the subject line, by Tuesday July 31.
