2013’s Shooting Stars Selected – |

European Film Promotion (EFP) have chosen the ’10 exceptional young European actors’ selected for the 2013 Shooting Stars showcase, to be held at the Berlin Film Festival between February 9 – 11, 2013. Now in its 16th year, Shooting Stars aims to support and champion young European actors on the international stage.

The 10 young actors were chosen from a panel of 27 by a  jury of international industry professionals, who took into account both the candidates’ body of work and their potential ability to expand their careers on the world’s acting stage.

Speaking about their final selection, the jury commented: “We are unanimously impressed by this new generation of European actors and the level of nominees. It is a perfect mix between astonishing newcomers and talents we had already seen before, but who have taken their careers to a new level this year. The selection process was not easy and we had tough choices to make. However, we are sure of one thing: our final choice will cast the spotlight on true artists who deserve this exposure. We are very curious to see how their careers develop in the future.”

2013′s Shooting Stars will be treated to a three-day programme of events during the Berlinale, including interviews with international Casting Directors, various presentations to the world’s film industry, a press conference and workshop. Each will also be honoured with the Shooting Stars Award in a ceremony held on the main festival stage.
