Forest Whitaker’s Repentance to get Market Premiere at Berlin

Forest Whitaker’s Significant Productions and JuntoBox Films have confirmed that LionsGate/CodeBlack will release the psychological thriller, Repentance in US cinemas on February 28, 2014.

The film stars Whitaker as Angel Sanchez, a single father suffering from the recent mysterious death of his mother. Suspecting Thomas Carter  – a well known psychiatrist (played by Anthony Mackie) – may have been involved in her death, he kidnaps Carter and his family, subjecting them to torture in the hope of of uncovering the truth.

Philippe Caland (Boxing Helena), directed from a script co-written with Shintaro Shimosawa (The Grudge). Caland also produced alongside Whitaker and Nina Yang Bongiovi under their production shingle, Significant Production.

Repentance will have its Premiere Market Screening at the upcoming European Film Market in Berlin.

Film Executive, Ellen Wander, along with her company, Film Bridge International, is handling International distribution for Repentance.

Film Bridge International is also bringing the recently completed, Winnie Mandela starring Academy Award winner, Jennifer Hudson and Academy Award nominee, Terrence Howard to Berlin together with a market slate which includes and At Middleton starring Academy Award nominees, Andy Garcia and Vera Farmiga.
