South West London’s latest studio for indies
Formerly the home of Talkback Thames’ ‘The Bill’, Merton Studios recently relaunched as Wimbledon Film and Television Studios, following months of major refurbishment.
Billed as London’s newest film and television studio complex, the studio now sports a total of 220 000 square feet of production space, including two large stages of approximately 8,000 square feet each and two smaller green screen studios, sized at 2,300 and 2,000 square feet respectively.
Although still relatively new, the studios have already welcomed a host of productions including the production of ‘Iron Lady’ starring Meryl Streep as Margaret Thatcher, for which a replica set of the House of Commons was constructed in Stage 1.
