The Woman in Black: The Angel of Death Starts Production – movieScope

Directed by Tom Harper (The Scouting Book For Boys), the film stars is set four decades after Arthur Kipps (Daniel Radcliffe) experienced the terror of Eel Marsh House, and sees a group of young evacuees from Blitz-era London awaken the house’s dark secrets.

The Woman in Black: Angel of Death stars Pheobe Fox (War Book, A Poet in New York) in her first leading role in a feature film, along with Jeremy Irvine (War Horse) and Helen McCrory (Skyfall).

Hammer will produce the film along with Richard Jackson’s Talisman Films; Exclusive Media are co-financing with eOne Films, who will distribute in the UK, Spain and Canada. The film will shoot at multiple locations throughout England, and at Pinewood Studios.

Simon Oakes, President & CEO of Hammer and Vice-Chairman of Exclusive Media said: “We are thrilled to have assembled such a talented team for the next stage in The Woman In Black story with the amazing Tom Harper at the helm.”

Director Tom Harper commented: “There’s such a fantastic history of British horror films and it’s great to be continuing the story of Susan Hill’s vengeful cult character.  Jon Croker’s script is haunting and powerful and I’m delighted to be working with such a great cast and crew to bring it to life.”
