Luke Evans and Elisabeth Moss join Ben Wheatley’s High Rise

Producer Jeremy Thomas has announced that Welsh actor Luke Evans (The Hobbit trilogy, Fast and Furious 6) and Golden Globe winner Elisabeth Moss (Mad Men, On The Road) will join Tom Hiddleston, Sienna Miller and Jeremy Irons in Ben Wheatley’s upcoming High-Rise. Directed by Wheatley from a screenplay by his regular collaborator Amy Jump, the hotly anticipated film is an adaptation of JG Ballard’s classic British thriller.

Evans and Moss join UK actors James Purefoy and Wheatley’s regular players Reece Shearsmith, Peter Ferdinando, along with comedian Dan Renton Skinner.

Wheatley said: “Elizabeth Moss and Luke Evans are great additions to our cast. I’m really excited to be working with both of them. I’m looking forward to see what they will bring to the complex relationship between Richard and Helen Wilder.”

High-Rise is slated for a July start in Belfast, with Thomas producing through Recorded Picture Company.

The worldwide rights in the film have been acquired by HanWay Films, joining a recent slew of acquisitions by the company including Lone Sherfig’s The Riot Club and Girl’s Night Out by Julian Jarrold. Financiers include Film4, the BFI Film Fund and Scope Invest Producteurs of Belgium, with support from Northern Ireland Screen. Manuel Chiche’s new company The Jokers has picked up the rights for France, and STUDIOCANAL will distribute in the UK.
